In the awesome game Hades, you play as Zagreus, a cool prince trying to escape the Underworld. Along the way, you get help from the gods and goddesses of Greek myths! These gods give you special powers called “boons.” But just like in real life, some gods and powers are stronger than others.

15. Persephone
Persephone is a really important goddess, but she’s not into fighting. She’s all about growing things and making things peaceful. In the game, she helps Zagreus in a different way, by being wise and calm. She’d much rather have a flower garden than a sword fight!
14. Dionysus
Dionysus is the god of parties and wine! He’s super fun to hang out with and he’s got a great personality. But when it comes to fighting, he’s not really your guy. His boons in the game are okay, but he’d much rather be chilling at a party with a drink in his hand than jumping into battle.
13. Hermes
Hermes is the speedy messenger god! He’s super fast, and his boons in the game make Zagreus faster and more flexible. This is helpful in a fight, for sure! But Hermes isn’t known as a warrior. He’s better at running away or dodging than facing a tough enemy head-on.
12. Aphrodite
Aphrodite is the goddess of love and beauty! She’s charming and can be very powerful in her own way. Her “Aid” power in the game is actually really strong against big bosses! But fighting isn’t really what she’s all about. She’s more about love and making people feel good, but don’t count her out completely!
11. Thanatos
Thanatos is the dude who’s in charge of death itself! He’s not a god exactly, but he’s super spooky and powerful. When he helps Zagreus in a fight, he can hit really hard! But his main job is to take souls to the Underworld, not to be a warrior. He’s scary and strong, but not the best fighter on this list.
10. Megaera
Megaera, or Meg, is the first boss you fight in Hades! She and her sisters are tough! Zagreus beats her a lot, but she’s still really strong. She’s not a god like the others, but her whip is no joke! Even though Zagreus can beat her, she’s still someone to be scared of.
9. Achilles
Achilles is a super famous warrior from myths, and he’s Zagreus’ trainer in the game! He’s got tons of fighting experience, but he’s not a god. Zagreus actually gets stronger than him in the game, which is surprising! Achilles is awesome and a great teacher, but he might not beat the really powerful gods.
8. Artemis
Artemis is the goddess of the hunt! She’s fast, uses a bow and arrow, and is a really cool character. Her boons in the game can do big damage if you get lucky. She’s quick and precise, just like in the myths! She’s strong, but not quite as strong as some of the top fighters on this list.
7. Poseidon
Poseidon is the god of the sea! He’s a HUGE force of nature in myths. In the game, he looks really powerful too! But his boons, while cool, aren’t always the most helpful for fighting. He can knock enemies away, which is sometimes annoying instead of helpful, even though he’s super strong.
6. Zeus
Zeus is the king of the gods! So, yeah, he’s going to be strong in a fight! In the game, he’s a bit basic, but he gives Zagreus awesome lightning powers. These powers are really good and strong! Zeus is a solid, powerful god, even if he’s not the most exciting character.
5. Hades
Hades is the big boss himself, the god of the Underworld! He’s HUGE and muscular in the game, with massive weapons! He looks super scary and he’s definitely a tough guy. Hades is a great fighter, he even fought the Titans! But… Zagreus beats him over and over in the game! So, even though he’s strong, he can’t be higher on the list because his own son keeps winning.
4. Demeter
Demeter is kind of like Zeus because she also controls the weather, but her powers feel even bigger! In the myths, Zeus might seem stronger, but in the game, Demeter is REALLY tough. Her ice powers are super strong! As the goddess of seasons changing, she’s definitely someone to be afraid of.
3. Zagreus
Okay, Zagreus is the main guy, and he’s actually super powerful! Even though he’s a new god made for the game, he can beat almost everyone! He beats his dad, Hades, all the time! He’s basically immortal in the game, coming back to life over and over. He’s got a special kind of strength because of death and rebirth!
2. Athena
Athena is awesome! She’s got one of the coolest designs in the game, and her boons are amazing. She gives Zagreus powers to block attacks and be super defensive. Athena is known for being wise and strategic in myths, and she’s powerful because she’s both smart and strong!
1. Ares
And the number one strongest character? It’s Ares, the god of war! No surprise there! He doesn’t fight for you directly in the game, but his boons are some of the most powerful. They can do “Doom” damage, which is really strong! Some of his boons, like Blade Rift, are super useful too. In Hades, Ares is calm but still loves to fight, making him the ultimate warrior!c
